Terms of Service — Equator Marketplace

These Terms govern use of the Equator Marketplace app and website operated by Equator Concepts LLC. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. Keep your credentials secure, provide accurate information, and promptly update it. You are responsible for activity on your account until you report unauthorized use.

Marketplace role

Equator provides tools for people and businesses to list, discover, discuss, buy, sell, hire, and arrange delivery of physical goods and real-world services. Unless a listing expressly says Equator is the seller, users transact with each other. Equator is not a party to every user-to-user transaction and does not guarantee the identity, quality, legality, safety, or accuracy of every listing.

User content and conduct

You retain ownership of content you submit and grant Equator a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, format, and display it solely to operate, secure, and promote the Service. You must have the rights needed to submit it.

You may not post or send illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, violent, infringing, unsafe, counterfeit, or spam content; impersonate others; manipulate ratings; scrape or disrupt the Service; evade moderation; or use Equator to facilitate prohibited goods or unlawful activity.

Listings, messages, reports, and blocking

Sellers are responsible for accurate descriptions, prices, availability, ownership, and legally required disclosures. Buyers should inspect goods, verify important facts, and use safe transaction practices. You can report listings, profiles, or conversations and block another user. We may review reports, remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, and cooperate with lawful authorities.

Payments, orders, shipping, and refunds

Checkout is for physical goods and real-world services and uses external payment processors or supported mobile-money rails, not app-store billing. Before authorizing payment, review the displayed price, currency, fees, delivery terms, and seller details. Payment and shipping partners have their own terms.

Refund, return, cancellation, and dispute rights depend on the transaction, seller terms, applicable law, and processor rules. The Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy provides the policy for supported Local Stores and Global Shopping orders. Equator may reverse, delay, or cancel activity reasonably suspected of fraud, error, sanctions risk, or legal violation.

Jobs, services, directory, and Global Shopping

Employers and applicants are responsible for checking opportunities and credentials. Service providers and customers are responsible for scope, qualifications, access, safety, and local licensing. Directory records may come from public or submitted sources and should be verified before reliance. Cross-border requests may involve duties, taxes, customs delays, substitutions, and carrier restrictions disclosed during the transaction.

Intellectual property

The Equator name, brand, software, design, and non-user content belong to Equator Concepts LLC or its licensors. These Terms do not grant permission to use our trademarks or copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the Service except as applicable law permits.

Account suspension and deletion

You may stop using the Service and delete your account through Settings → Delete account or the public account deletion page. We may restrict or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create legal, fraud, or safety risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including transaction, dispute, intellectual-property, and liability terms, continue to apply.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Equator does not promise uninterrupted access or guarantee user content, counterparties, goods, services, jobs, delivery times, or transaction outcomes. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Equator Concepts LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from user conduct, listings, transactions, third-party services, or inability to use the Service.

Response target: within two business days

Dispute escalation: customers should first contact admin@equatormarketplace.com. If the issue is not resolved through normal support, the customer may request escalation to the Equator Marketplace Operations Owner, who makes Equator's final internal decision after reviewing the order record, communications, payment information, delivery evidence, and applicable marketplace policies. We aim to communicate an escalation decision within five business days after receiving the necessary information. This internal process does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law or through the customer's payment provider.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms and will post the revised date. Material changes may also be announced in the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. Applicable mandatory consumer and data-protection laws continue to apply.
